UCSC Student Graphic Art Contest

To: UCSC Students

From: Professor of Education and Director of the Center for Collaborative Research for an Equitable California (CCREC), Ron Glass

The Center for Collaborative Research for an Equitable California (CCREC) is hosting a graphic art contest to design a logo for our new research center. The winning design will be used on our website and to "brand" our research center. The winning designer will receive a $50 gift certificate to the UCSC Bookstore and have an impressive item for a resume and/or portfolio. Below is information about CCREC. Designs should capture the mission of CCREC and translate well in both digital and print mediums. Please direct questions and submissions to Sam Foster at ccrec@ucsc.edu. The deadline for submissions is midnight on Friday, November 12th, 2010.

CCREC aims to shape a University of California system-wide multi/transdisciplinary effort using collaborative research methods to address the state’s interconnected crises in the economy, education, employment, health, nutrition, housing, and the environment. These crises exacerbate social, economic, and political inequalities; threaten the state’s intellectual, technological, and economic competitiveness; and undermine the capacity of the university to meet its public service mission. CCREC will investigate the intersections of the crises to shape research-based responses directly geared into policy and community contexts.
